MPCN is a microcosm of the actual Malaysian healthcare fraternity...

MPCN is a microcosm of the actual Malaysian healthcare fraternity. It is unique because of the DIVERSITY (public-private, primary-tertiary,gender,political ideology etc). We exercise TOLERANCE and embrace ACCEPTANCE. It was refreshing to see peers debate openly and argue over differences (some degree of freedom of speech). Whatever it is, we cheered for the same dream, like how we demonstrated during LCW's match. That's the spirit. We don't have to agree with each other all the time. We can agree to disagree on MPCN.

What is the purpose of MPCN?

What is the purpose of MPCN?

To unite doctors in Malaysia?

I have been on internet since even before 'internet' was recognized as a legitimate word in dictionaries. Those were the time we put our old telephone handset onto modem and called overseas at 300bps.

Those were the days that despite our differences, in skin colour, region, age, gender, and others, we stood united as a common race for the betterment of worldwide communication and information exchange. It is still happening now - it is called 'open source'.

And these days? Everybody who knows how to go online thinks that the rest of the world should confine into posting only stuffs they are interested in. As for the rest, they find that the content is offensive! They keep reporting all sorts of junks to Facebook monitoring team.

Jokes turned into insults. Personal opinions become personal attacks. One simple dissatisfaction expressed online can turn into a court case.

What has become of us? Now everyone who has access to internet and in particularly Facebook is capable of censoring others, getting others banned?

Tolerance is at the all-time low.

Are we trying to shape the (internet) world to our own ideal? Are we trying to 'mind-control' others through Facebook?

I can tell you - it doesn't work that way!

You see, the internet do not revolve around you. Instead, you revolve around the internet. So stop living in your self-centered world.

You want to make changes to the internet, you do not force stuffs down people's throat.

You reason with the rest of the world. And hopefully there are people who agree with you. Be done with it.

You can block as many people or sites you deem offensive but they still exist. You can report as many as you want but as long as you are still on the internet, they will always come back to you, like those penis-enlargement ads.

From my view point, MPCN is doing a good job. We all have our differences. I yearn the days when we view our respective tasteless jokes as just a passing of our ventings of our disatisfaction and daily stress from our stressful works.

Perhaps, just perhaps, we should have another page just to share among us tolerable doctors of any other nonsense under the sun, just not to offense these holier-than-thou colleagues? Then we can share all the other stuffs that these hypocrites cannot tolerate?

Let us the open-minded assimilate and leave those holier-than-thou f***ed ups behind.

We are much stronger than we could imagine if we all unite as one...

The most difficult transformation and change is non other than our mindset and mentality. We should start with ourselves first before we become the engine of change for others. We could start with ourselves, our families our friends and our medical professionals toward good values, good ethics, discipline of justice, embracing accountability and transparency in what we do. We are much stronger than we could imagine if we all unite as one, public and private, primary care or secondary/ tertiary care based on the spelled values in our profession and uphold our medical ethics with our Hippocratic oath; Primum non nocere that means "first, do no harm but heals ourselves, our families our friends and our nation. That's our agenda for transformation.

My clinic was just been visited by 4 FOMEMA officers earlier today, I presented to them everything that they want to see and check before they could request. They were amused initially and I later told them that my past experience taught me what you'll be looking for during your clinic inspection and was well prepared today because of our new Doctor's Network. The news that you're making rounds for inspection travel faster than the letter. So where is your next target? They just laughed and said thank you and left. It took less than 10 minutes. Thank you MPCN.

Frankly speaking, many are not aware of our "Malaysian Primary Care Network". I was not aware until someone added me into this group, and found out how much I can gain from here - updates, sharings and clinical case discussions. So, I suggest we actively add our friends who work as doctors into this group, let them know the purposes of this group, our fights, our vision/missions. The more members we have, the more awareness hence the more numbers we have against this unethical MLM/so-called "pharmacy" who rob away our right to dispense.
