Dear Esteemed Members and Colleagues,
On behalf of the Medical Practitioners Coalition Association of Malaysia (MPCAM), I am honoured to extend a warm welcome to you. It is a privilege to serve as President of this association for the Term 2025-2027. Our past Presidents Dr Jim Loi,Dr Peter Chan had actively brought the evolution to the MPCAM .Then came Dr Raj Kumar Maharajah with whom I worked as Secretary from 2019-2022 and served as Vice President under President,Dr Soo Tai Kang from 2023-2025.Both of them were actively engaged with many issues affecting the GP. |
During the Covid 19 pandemic, much changes were brought to the lives of our GP. But with the help of our association much guidance was given to the GP and we continued to serve the public and we stood together in those tough times. Support of one another is needed in such times. That bond continues till today .
Currently we are going through very challenging times with KKM. The recent Town Hall Meeting with our Health Minister regards new Dispensing Regulations under KPDN has reduced us to kedai runcit. That struggle has brought the associations to cross roads starting a legal battle.MPCAM may not be seen in the forefront but we are still working hand in hand with all associations and have been voicing out our concerns and will continue to do so.Besides the multiple TPA/MCO issues have been looked into and MPCAM is moving ahead with other Associations to do the best for its members.Current economic crisis is hitting hard on solo GP ,we are very much aware and looking into solutions to sustain through this stormy period.
Looking ahead, MPCAM will continue to expand its efforts by introducing more structured training and educational opportunities, enhancing networking platforms, and strengthening our advocacy for sustainable healthcare policies. We plan to foster stronger collaborations with healthcare organisations, regulators, and policymakers to ensure that our members remain well-supported in an ever-evolving healthcare environment. Our focus will remain on uniting medical practitioners under a common vision of service, integrity, and professional excellence.
I encourage all members to actively engage with MPCAM, participate in our programmes, and contribute to the growth for our collective mission. No GP should be left standing alone to fight his battle. Together, we can continue to build a resilient and respected medical community that is committed to advancing healthcare for the benefit of all Malaysians.
Warmest Regards,
Dr Bhupindar Kaur Dhaliwal
